Today I spent time at Tween Brands headquarters researching an overview of upcoming styles in order to know what to look for when I am traveling. I was able to gather information about fashion styles using the Tween Brands' trend team's fashion trend packets made for the designers, WGSN and fashion blogs. I researched trends, key clothing items, details, materials, prints/patterns, colors and accessories. Some key trends I found were: 60s retro styles incorporating checkers and color blocking, 70s flowy fabrics, 90s street style and muted neon colors.
Key pieces include bustiers, cropped tops, light weight sweaters, tunics, relaxed fit pants, cropped pants, biker jackets, overalls, shift dresses, 50s style swimsuits, jean jackets and cropped jackets
Detailing emphasised cut out shoulders, color blocking, scalloped hemlines and halters
Major materials used are lace, denim, mesh, plastic and sheer
Common prints and patterns were animal, dye effects, bold flowers, plaids and checkers
Frequently used colors were black and white, military, soft hues, saturated brights and pink
Accessories that appeared were backpacks, flats, sneakers, booties, baseball caps, and socks
